About Me

My name is Sean Armstrong, and I've spent my career at the intersection of education, psychology, and storytelling because I believe understanding how people think is the first step to helping them grow.

I achieved 100% student growth in my first year teaching in East Palo Alto, presented research at APA 2023 alongside the former chair of the Society for Humanistic Psychology, won two awards for my college radio show Tha Local Beat, and published a novel. All while working in communities that deserve more.

Philosophy of Education:

For me, teaching will always be about access. Education is a passport to the future, and literacy, whether it be reading, media, or psychological, is a cornerstone for me. All education requires literacy, as literacy is what allows comprehension. Ultimately, teaching is not about making my students believe what I do, but about considering why they think what they do.
